San Cristóbal de la Habana
San Cristóbal de la Habana is a post-revolutionary Cuban cigar brand created by Habanos S.A. in 1999, named in homage to the historic name of Havana, which dates back to its founding in 1519. Although there was a pre-revolution brand with a similar name, there is no connection between the two. The brand’s initial launch featured four vitolas, each named after one of the fortresses that once protected Havana: El Morro, La Fuerza, La Punta, and El Principe. Over the years, new vitolas named after streets in Old Havana, such as Mercaderes and Oficios, have been added. San Cristóbal de la Habana cigars are known for their light to medium strength and are crafted “Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga” using premium tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region. The brand celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019 with a special release, further cementing its reputation for quality and tradition. Despite its relatively recent inception, San Cristóbal de la Habana has garnered a loyal following and continues to be celebrated for its unique blends and historical significance.
