Bolívar cigars, named after the legendary South American liberator Simón Bolívar, are renowned for their powerful and robust flavors, mirroring the bold character of their namesake. Established in 1902 by José F. Rocha, the brand quickly moved production to Cuba to leverage the region’s superior tobacco-growing conditions. In 1954, the brand was acquired by Cifuentes y Cia and relocated to the Partagás factory in Havana, where it remains today. Known for their full-bodied taste, Bolívar cigars use premium Vuelta Abajo tobacco, with a distinctive strength derived from the Ligero leaves. Despite a brief and less successful production period outside Cuba during the Cuban Revolution, Bolívar remains a top brand, celebrated for its rich history, exceptional craftsmanship, and the enduring legacy of producing some of the most potent cigars in the world.
