Vegas Robaina

Vegas Robaina is one of the youngest yet most respected brands in the cigar industry, created in 1997 by Habanos S.A. to honor Alejandro Robaina, the “Godfather of Cuban Tobacco.” Robaina, renowned for his superior tobacco growing techniques, managed to keep his family’s plantations independent even after the 1959 Cuban Revolution. Located in the Vuelta Abajo region, these plantations produce some of the finest wrapper leaves, contributing to the exceptional quality of Vegas Robaina cigars. Despite receiving mixed reviews initially, the brand quickly gained a strong following among aficionados for its medium to full-strength cigars, all handmade at the former H. Upmann factory in Havana. Key vitolas include the Vegas Robaina Unicos, a robust smoke with complex flavors, and the Don Alejandro, a tribute to Robaina’s legacy. Today, the brand continues under the stewardship of Alejandro’s grandson, Hirochi, maintaining its reputation for excellence and contributing significantly to the world of premium Cuban cigars.
