Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Personal Reserve is the second cigar released in 2015 to mark Carlos Fuente Sr.’s 80th birthday — and while Eye of the Shark got most of the headlines, this Robusto is what the family called Don Carlos’s own personal reserve. Blended by Carlos Fuente Sr. himself from tobaccos he chose personally, and rested longer than almost anything in the Fuente portfolio, it is one of the most refined expressions of the Don Carlos line ever released.

Expect a medium to medium-full profile with cedar, cream, and roasted nuts at the core, joined by vanilla, orange peel, gentle baking spice, and a soft leather note, all resolving into a long, elegant finish that stays balanced from the first draw to the last.

This Robusto measures 140mm with a 50 ring gauge, hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. with an African Cameroon wrapper over Dominican binder and long-fillers, all from vintage tobaccos aged for at least twelve years. Presented in a box of 20 cigars.

Ideal with an aged rum, a fine cognac, or a barrel-strength bourbon — also pairs beautifully with a single-origin espresso or a piece of dark chocolate to underline its creamy, cedary character.
