Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Eye of the Shark is one of the most celebrated cigars of the modern era — a limited release built to mark both Carlos Fuente Sr.’s 80th birthday and the 30th anniversary of the Don Carlos line he named after himself. The vitola itself is a Fuente signature: a figurado with a rounded head that transitions into a square box-pressed foot, in the compact “Eye” version of the famous No. 77 Shark shape. Named Cigar of the Year and rated 97 points by Cigar Aficionado in 2017, it has become one of the hardest cigars in the world to keep in stock.

Expect a medium to medium-full profile with cedar, cream, and a delicate floral sweetness, layered with vanilla, roasted nuts, hints of citrus, and a soft touch of leather — subtle, complex, and impeccably balanced from first light to the nub.

This box-pressed figurado measures 146mm with a 52 ring gauge, hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. from vintage tobaccos personally selected by Carlos Fuente Sr. — an African Cameroon wrapper over Dominican binder and long-fillers, all aged for at least ten years. Presented in a box of 20 cigars.

Ideal with an aged rum, a fine cognac, or a barrel-strength bourbon — also pairs beautifully with a single-origin espresso or a piece of dark chocolate to lift its creamy, floral character.
