Arturo Fuente Casa Cuba Doble Seis is the wide, box-pressed anchor of a line Carlito Fuente himself has called his favourite blend. The Casa Cuba was created as a tribute to 1940s Havana — the golden age of Cuban cigars, when the streets around Casa Cuba’s namesake would fill with domino players smoking well into the night. The Doble Seis takes its name from those very games (a “double six” being the highest domino tile), and its generous 60 ring gauge delivers the long, unhurried session the moment calls for.
Expect a medium-bodied profile with cedar, toasted almonds, and cream at the core, joined by a touch of black pepper, coffee, and a soft caramel sweetness that keeps the finish warm and lingering.
Our suggestion for cigars of similar strength:
Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Personal Reserve
Davidoff Grand Cru Robusto
This box-pressed Gordo measures 152mm with a 60 ring gauge, hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. as a true Dominican puro, with an Ecuadorian Sun Grown Habano wrapper over Dominican binder and long-fillers grown on the Fuente family’s own estates. Presented in a box of 30 cigars.
Ideal with a bourbon, an aged rum, or a rich espresso — also pairs beautifully with a piece of milk chocolate or a caramel dessert to underline its creamy, nutty character.
