CAO MX2 Robusto is a dark, indulgent expression of CAO’s “Maduro × 2” philosophy — a double-wrapped Robusto built for smokers who chase depth, sweetness, and unapologetic richness in every layer.
Handcrafted in Nicaragua, this cigar is dressed in a heavily fermented Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper laid over a spicy Brazilian Maduro binder — the second Maduro layer that gives the line its name — with a complex long-filler blend drawing from Nicaragua, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Peru, delivering a full-bodied yet remarkably balanced character.
The smoking experience pours out in waves: dark chocolate and espresso lead, joined by molasses-like sweetness, then deepen into aged leather, oak, black pepper, earth, and toasted cedar — finishing with hints of dried fig, baking spice, cocoa nibs, and a creamy, lingering sweetness drawn from the dual maduro construction. The smoke is thick, oily, and intensely flavorful from the first draw to the nub.
This Robusto vitola measures 5″ (127mm) with a 52 ring gauge, hand-rolled for approximately 60–75 minutes of richly layered smoking.
