The Arturo Fuente Hemingway line is one of the most iconic figurado series in the premium cigar world — created by Carlos Fuente Sr. in 1983 as a tribute to Ernest Hemingway, built entirely in classic perfecto shapes that had been nearly abandoned by the industry when Fuente revived them. The Classic is the full-sized seven-inch flagship of the line and the longest regular-production Hemingway, with a tapered perfecto shape that opens from the pointed foot through a wide middle before narrowing again toward the head. Hand-rolled only by Fuente’s most experienced rollers, who are among the few in the world still skilled enough to work the classic perfecto cap.
Expect a medium profile with cedar, cream, and roasted nuts at the core, joined by light pepper, caramel, honey and the distinctive sweet-spicy character of well-aged Cameroon wrapper, all resolving into a long, elegantly balanced finish.
Our suggestion for cigars of similar strength:
Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Belicoso
Davidoff Aniversario No. 3
This Perfecto measures 178mm with a 48 ring gauge at its widest point, hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cía. with an aged African Cameroon wrapper over Dominican binder and long-fillers drawn from the Fuente family’s own estate farms. Presented in a box of 25 cigars.
Ideal with a cognac, a vintage port, or an aged bourbon — also pairs beautifully with a cup of coffee or a piece of dark chocolate to complement its creamy, cedary character.
