Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro No. 1 is the shorter and thicker of the two Jibaro vitolas — the darker, wilder cousin of the standard Nuevitas, built to show what Pete Johnson’s Cuban-inspired Nicaraguan tobaccos can do when pushed into fuller, more rustic territory. The Jibaro is instantly recognisable by its distinctive shaggy foot, the open end with filler leaves left uncapped, and by the deeper, oilier Corojo ’99 wrapper that replaces the standard Nuevitas leaf. The compact Robusto Extra format concentrates the blend into a shorter, more intense session.

Expect a medium to full profile with cedar, black pepper, and leather at the core, joined by baking spices, earth, and a rich root beer sweetness that arrives in the final third, all resolving into a warm, complex finish.

This Robusto Extra measures 127mm with a 54 ring gauge, hand-rolled at the García family’s My Father Cigars factory in Estelí as a true Nicaraguan puro, with a Corojo ’99 wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers, finished with a shaggy uncapped foot. Presented in a box of 10 cigars.

Ideal with a bourbon, an aged rum, or a strong black coffee — also pairs excellently with a spiced tea to bring out its peppery, cedary character.
