Tatuaje Surrogates Skull Breaker is a no-apologies Belicoso built to live up to its name — a full-bodied flavor bomb from the Surrogates line, where every vitola gets its own unique size and blend, and Pete Johnson holds nothing back.
Handcrafted in Nicaragua at the Garcia family’s My Father factory, this cigar is wrapped in a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf maduro leaf — heavily fermented for sweetness and depth — over a Nicaraguan binder and a ligero-rich Nicaraguan long-filler blend, a powerful construction designed to deliver maximum strength alongside maximum flavor.
The smoking experience opens with bold black pepper, dark espresso, and rich earth, then builds into a midsection of dark chocolate, leather, oak, and roasted coffee — finishing with hints of dried fruit, mocha, anise, and a meaty, lingering tobacco depth. The tapered Belicoso head sharpens every flavor and channels the smoke with precision from the first draw.
This Belicoso vitola measures 5 1/4″ (133mm) with a 52 ring gauge, hand-rolled for approximately 60–75 minutes of bold, full-bodied smoking.
Our suggestion for cigars of similar strength:
Ideal with peated single-malt Scotch, dark espresso, vintage port, or a barrel-aged imperial stout — pairings that match its broadleaf intensity and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the cigar’s pepper-and-chocolate punch without softening its edge.
