Tatuaje El Suelo Campo (20) is a bold Nicaraguan-crafted Gordo from the L’Atelier El Suelo line — a generous, earthy expression that delivers rich flavour, approachable strength, and the boutique character associated with Pete Johnson’s cigar portfolio.
Handcrafted in Nicaragua, this cigar features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, with a filler blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos and Connecticut Broadleaf. The result is a medium-to-full bodied smoke with a dark, rustic profile, steady construction, and a satisfying balance of earth, spice, wood, and subtle sweetness.
The smoking experience opens with earth, black pepper, cedar, and leather, gradually developing into notes of roasted coffee, cocoa, toasted nuts, oak, dark sweetness, and a touch of herbal spice. As the large Campo format progresses, the smoke becomes rounder and more textured, finishing with lingering pepper, woody depth, and a smooth earthy richness.
This Campo Gordo measures 6 1/4” (159mm) with a 60 ring gauge, offering approximately 85–100 minutes of medium-to-full bodied smoking.
Our suggestion for cigars of similar strength:
Ideal with aged rum, espresso, smooth bourbon, or dark roast coffee — pairings that complement its earthy core, peppery opening, and leather-rich finish without overpowering the profile.
